RAPHAEL MINDER
A Swiss journalist and writer, Raphael is currently the Central Europe Correspondent for the Financial Times, after covering Spain and Portugal for The New York Times for over a decade. Prior to this, he was a Financial Times Staff Correspondent in Paris, Brussels and Sydney, as well as Asia Regional Correspondent in Hong Kong. He started his career in journalism with Bloomberg News.
Raphael is also the author of The Struggle for Catalonia: Rebel Politics in Spain (Hurst, 2017), “an insightful and timely account of the fault lines in Spanish politics” (in French: Catalogne : Urnes et déchirures (Éditions Nevicata, 2019); as well as ¿Esto es España? Una década de corresponsalía (Ediciones Península, 2020) and its translation to English, Feeling the Heat: A Decade as a Foreign Correspondent in Spain (Sussex Academic Press, 2021).
